MISSIO DEI IS FOR YOUNG ADULTS WITH A DESIRE TO GIVE GOD A YEAR OF THEIR LIFE AND FIND THEIR IDENTITY IN CHRIST, WHILE PARTAKING IN THE GREAT COMMISSION. IT IS OUR DESIRE TO SEE STUDENTS FULLY PREPARED TO TAKE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST INTO THE WORLD WHETHER GOD LEADS THEM INTO FULL TIME VOCATIONAL MINISTRY OR A SECULAR CAREER PATH.

THE ONE MONTH JOURNEY BEGINS THE LAST WEEKEND OF MAY AND ENDS THE LAST WEEKEND OF JUNE

THOUGH THERE IS NO COLLEGE CREDIT, THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENCE DOING MINISTRY THAT WILL LOOK GREAT ON A PROFESSIONAL RESUME. IF YOU HAVE APPLIED AS A COLLEGE LEVEL LEADER FOR THIS ONE MONTH JOURNEY, THIS INTERNSHIP COULD COUNT TOWARD REQUIRED INTERNSHIPS BY MOST BIBLE COLLEGES. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SCHOOL TO ENSURE THAT IT OFFICIALLY COUNTS!

YES, HEALTH INSURANCE IS REQUIRED FOR EVERYBODY AND  AUTO INSURANCE IS REQUIRED IF YOU ARE BRINGING A VEHICLE.

DUE TO THE SHORT TIME SPAN OF THE OVERALL ONE MONTH JOURNEY, JOURNEYMEN WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FORM RELATIONSHIPS OF THAT NATURE IN ORDER TO EXPERIENCE ALL THAT GOD WANTS TO DO ON THIS JOURNEY FREE OF DISTRACTION. FAILURE TO UPHOLD THIS STANDARD WILL RESULT IN AN EARLY DISMISSAL FROM THE JOURNEY.

HOWEVER, DATING RELATIONSHIPS THAT WERE FORMED PRIOR TO THE ONE MONTH JOURNEY ARE ALLOWED THOUGH THERE WILL BE LIMITED CONTACT BETWEEN THE TWO DUE TO THE NATURE OF OUR TRAVEL SCHEDULE..

Mike Holt, our founder, as well as the rest of our staff hold credentials with the Assemblies of God. However our ministry works multi-denominationally through our various outreaches and students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply with the understanding that you will be exposed to worship settings of various denominations.

Journeymen who are removed from Missio Dei due to disciplinary reasons are not eligible for reimbursement. Journeymen who must leave the program due to circumstances beyond their control are eligible to receive reimbursement for up to 2/3 of tuition costs. The housing portion is non-refundable in either case.

All Journeymen are expected to uphold a standard of excellence in every part of their life both public and private as they represent both Christ and the ministry wherever they go. Failure to uphold this standard could result in disciplinary action and correction or even early dismissal. Instances which could result in disciplinary action include (but are not limited to):

-Not having a sense or an attitude of honor towards staff and each other, i.e.  Staff must be addressed as “Pastor…” and fellow Journeymen are to be treated as brothers and sisters.

-Having a poor attitude when asked to fulfill a task by a staff member or leader in the ministry we are working with regardless of if that task fits within your comfort zone or natural abilities.

-Not demonstrating care in personal appearance and hygiene. Your appearance reflects your attitude, therefore, make every effort to look presentable every day including ministry, travel, and off days. This also includes leaving inappropriate clothing at home and not wearing anything too tight, too low, too baggy, or too revealing the entire time you are with Missio Dei.

-Inappropriate Male/ Female relationships which includes course joking, physical contact beyond a “side hug, exclusive conversations (both in person and electronic), and being alone with a member of the opposite sex in any circumstance.

-Failure to maintain designated curfew on days off. Due to the exhausting nature of our travel, curfews are put into place to ensure that each Journeymen is prepared in both mind and body for the Journey ahead of them.

-Damage or negligence of Missio Dei property including but not limited to: housing and furnishing, ministry vans and trailers, promotional material, sound and video equipment etc.

No, a car is not required, although it may be useful to have one to get to and from the office at our home base, as well as personal trips around Macon during the few days the team is not on the road. If you bring a car, you will be responsible for the insurance and gas expenses.

We will provide the transportation to and from each of the destinations on the journey.

THE ONE MONTH JOURNEY IS DESIGNED FOR THE RISING HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR AND SENIOR. HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE RECENTLY GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU AS WELL. INDIVIDUALS ARE ACCEPTED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS AND THERE ARE ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF AVAILABLE SPOTS FOR THIS JOURNEY.

WHILE ON THE ONE MONTH JOURNEY ALL JOURNEYMEN WILL BE EXPECTED TO REMAIN WITH THE TEAM UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE STAFF FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE JOURNEY. In case of emergency or a pre-approved family event the journeymen will be allowed to return home for a short time.
